Piss on DEAD Holbrooke.  Maybe with less venom and velocity than I'm reserving for some...but still. Also, and such as.

I went to HS and College in Long Beach (2.00 / 4)
and both my uncle and aunt were cops on the Long Beach PD.  That PD has always been very quick to use a baton, stun gun or gun.  My aunt worked in the jail, and was pretty down on the overt violence that permeated the group.  My uncle died young from cancer, so I don't know what his thoughts were.

Bonus for me though.  When I got pulled over with contraband in my car, which was continuous (the contraband, not getting pulled over thank FSM) they would confiscate it and tell me to go home.  Then they would call my aunt who gave me shit but was kind enough to not tell her sister  ;-)

Sounds interesting (2.00 / 1)
This way we could count the number of illegal tarantulas crossing the border and send their hairy asses back where they belong.  Well, once the computer gets their signature down, of course.

got the chills re: Voyager (2.00 / 2)
kind of spooky, that it's entering "interstellar space". It's so far away and yet I imagine future travelers will be returning from god knows where, get to where that spacecraft is now and feel like they're almost home.

I've often thought (well....at least three times) that if I were in a situation like that, coming back to earth after being insanely far away, and picking up radio transmissions that I'd be deliriously happy to hear Britney Spears. Not Bobby Vinton, though. Ok....even Bobby Vinton. Probably.
