Hey, everybody,
Hope you`ve had a nice week.
Here are some images to keep your heads active.
Here`s a link to go with that image of my beautiful friends, on a trip to Lithuania.

It`s been raining here since 5:00 AM.
I love it.
We are not up to our daily requirement allotment of water so it`s great.
It`s also cool since I can stay home & not visit my projects for a few days.
I do need the rest since I have a horrible cough.
I failed to use a dust mask for a few minutes last week while showing some of my workers how I wanted something done.
And before anyone blasts off on me, yes they had masks.
Anyway here are some "Head Shots" like my Head Cold.

Friday again, & time to try & thrill you with a bunch of stuff I shoot.
Nothing is sacred to me, I shoot everything & anything.
This first one I shot, fearing I wouldn`t get home in time to honor my personal little project of shooting every sunset of January.
It`s shot from the truck just before turning onto Point Dume, where I live.
Flag knows that spot.
BTW, I did make it home a few minutes later in time to shoot a few more.

Here`s hoping all gates & doors open up for you, to new opportunities & health.
I shall though, start with a door to the past which should be reopened to clean up the mess inside.

First I`d like to send a healing light for New Pioneer & Juan.
I also want to thank you all for the wonderful wishes on behalf of Teri.
I put all of them on one document (almost 4 dozen) & gave it to her.
She was astounded by you all.
She wondered, who are all these people, with such caring wishes for me.
I told her many were simply Badgers. That should suffice.
Here`s the Malibu flag.

I think everybody`s good wishes have helped to bring Teri back home.
She is "resting comfortably" but it will take a while before she`s back to her self.
Thank you all for your good wishes for Teri in another diary here.

To keep my mind off the worry, I post these.
The man with me , a friend of mine for over thirty years is a world famous orchid grower. I must mention that he just turned 90, but hasn`t changed in appearance one bit since I first met him.
Below our image are some of his flowers.
Please click on the image, go to original, & peruse his Zuma Canyon  beauties.
I`ll dedicate this set to all the lovers of flowers .

HEAD SHOTS

For more than twenty years I`ve always admired this gate.
I`ve meant to stop & look at it numerous times but I only see it whip by my peripheral
vision as I traverse the canyon from the ocean to the valley over the coastal range.
Today I made a point to stop & take a few shots to show the quality of the work, a testament to it`s longevity.
Now, I`ve been beyond these gates many years ago, but I believe it would be wrong to divulge what I saw.
It is simply out of respect for the privacy implied by the fact there is a gate in the first place. Suffice it to say it`s simply beautiful & the entry road goes on for more than a mile.

Good evening everyone.
Even though I`m back every week, I`m very busy on a project which takes up more time than I like to spend doing so.
But that`s the nature of what I do.
It leaves me less time to contribute to the place but I`m not a wimp.
I do sneak in at least once a day & pop a few things in the comments sections occasionally.
I did have thoughts that this place harbored a bunch of people I was thankful for having met, during yesterday`s reflections.
Here`s tonight`s sunset.
The following set of images were all taken this week.

Hi everybody.
I`m working on a new cactus garden that I`ve almost completed.
Here is one of the cactus blooms.
When I have it done, I`ll post images of the whole area.
I`ve already planted dozens & dozens of varied prickleys.

I like some of the new members` submissions here.
As I normally never do, mentioning names will not happen, but you all know who you are.
I`m late again tonight but I`ve been setting up our place for a four month old grandson who will be in our care for a week.
So I`ll start with an image thats evocative of a young baby.

Late again.
I think help will be here tomorrow to show me what I`m not getting on the subject of posting images.
I had over six dozen slated but wasn`t feeling well so couldn`t spend all the time necessary to post that many.
It sometimes takes me hours to set all the images up to post.
A Badger tells me there is a better way.
We`ll see.
I`m going to celebrate with a "Sparkler".

These are a set of random shots.
The carved ladies were bequeathed to me by a neighbor who took her life.
I have quite a trove of treasures from her & hope to document whatever of her life I can put together from all the items I have from her.
All the images were taken at my place, but for the snowcapped mountains, taken 30 miles from here.
I hope you enjoy my little slice of paradise.
I`ll start with an emerald beetle that I saw a few days ago.
I didn`t have my camera with me (very unusual) so I put it in my hat & wore it home.
Talk about something bugging you. It aggravated me for half an hour, wandering around on my head under my hat.

I open with one that`s not completely arranged yet.
As you`ll see, many of my sunsets are composites of up to 16 shots , & taken, (all but one) from my deck.

HEAD SHOTS

by: KNUCKLEHEAD

Fri Aug 14, 2009 at 23:59:33 PM EST

Yesterday & today I was the one distracted.
Yesterday, I spent many hours with two of my little friends, but the best part was coaxing Niki, who is not yet three, to handle a quite rare snake.
This snake, which for people not familiar with snakes, may be confused with the dangerous Coral snake.
This snake is a Santa Monica Mountain King Snake & is found solely in my local mountains, the Santa Monica mountains.
After mastering the snake handling, Niki would in no way handle another local animal, the Black Tarantula.
They are harmless if not aggravated, so just don`t piss them off.
Then today, I got "Distracted" again when learning the two nicest words in the English language.
I will tell you what those two words are in my first comment, but I did want to show you a series of shots I took today of our future.
These images are the subjects of why I`ve always been a loud yelling, no backing down, agitator.
So for this week`s Distractions, I`ll first present a child of this world, one of my granddaughters I shot today.
She was not harmed.
If you wonder how I get her to smile, I scream & shout at her, something that usually terrifies civilians, but my "girls" know me.
Here we go.
